Just a thought:
Although a monarchist by necessity, in my personal life, I've always
been a bit of a cowboy: in my music (that and baroque classical),
philosophy (stylized), and sometimes even in my clothes. Lately, I've
been wondering:
1) Was there ever a micronation or national project based on the
ideals of the old cowboy philosophy? By this, I don't mean: "the only
good Injun is a dead injun" or Cowboy-Indian wars, etc. but the old
"handshake" promise, no-nonsense values (don't promise what you can't
keep)kind.
"It's better to have worked for your dinner than to have dressed for
it."
....things like that. I mean, other than the racialism "cowboy/injun"
attitude, many of the bottom-line,common sense ideals are still good.
I just wonder....
Thanks in advance for any information,

Cowboys were never in charge of whole countries or nations, so I doubt
it (just guessing). Cowboys are way way down the food chain, just like
most people. They're employees, not usually found in the halls of
power, so I think it's unlikely thet they would have the power to
alter whole cultures. They weren't all nice in the past anyway.. they
had goodies and baddies just like any other grouping in society.
I'm looking at political and social models too, and keeping my eye on
the failures I see around the world today and throughout history, so
as to not copy them by accident. I sure as hell don't want to
reproduce the authoritarianism I see and despise in the USA and other
world powers today, but nor do I want total chaos. There has to be
some rules, but I think over-regulation as is so common in Westernised
countries is stifling the best in us (and worse).
