Soon Alaska Senator Ted Stevens will be kicked out of the Senate and
take up residence at the gray bar hotel. Governor Sara Palin will have
to appoint a successor. I am sure that is a big reason a bare majority
of Alaskans voted for the crook--they were really voting for a
Republican successor. Who would she pick? Is it possible that she may
appoint husband Todd to the Senate? After all, he does have experience
sitting in on Government meetings in Alaska and experience lobbying for
the state on government paid trips. All of that was inappropriate, if
not illegal, but obviously no one cared. The rumors are that with their
traditional Christian marriage, Todd is "head of the family" and tells
Sarah what to do behind the scenes. What if he told her he wanted the
job? There would be no law stopping her from appointing her husband to
the Senate that I know of. Of course he would have zero credibility in
the Senate, but why would either of them care since he would have a safe
Senate seat. With his notoriety and aggressive style, he could win
re-election. Anyone think this is possible? |

But congressman willie Jefferson, of cold cash caper fame, was easily reelected
the 'rat designee for the congressional seat election from black-man New
Orleans. Being a crook doesn't matter to some people.

Yes, it's possible.
However, Alaska would have to have a special election with 60 to 90 days
to pick Stevens' successor. If Todd Palin ran and were elected, so be
it. That's the nature of democracy. |

A sad commentary is more like it. |
